Florianópolis, often called the “Island of Magic”, is a vibrant cultural hub known for its stunning landscapes, rich history, and thriving artistic community. Surrounded by breathtaking beaches, lush Atlantic forests, and traditional Azorean architecture, the city offers a unique blend of nature and heritage that serves as endless inspiration for artists. Open to all creatives, artists, and designers at every level working in all disciplines, including visual arts, design, and music.
We consider factors such as artistic merit, relevance of the proposed project, and potential contribution to the local art community when selecting artists.

Jade Matarazzo
Founder
Driven by a deep commitment to cultural exchange and the power of art to shape community identity, Jade Matarazzo brings over twenty years of experience as the creator of several international projects. As the founder of Art Brazil, The House of Arts, Expoart Japan/London, Atelier Without Borders, and Casa Brasil Miami, Jade always assured these initiatives would focus on cultural, social, and educational components, developing successful partnerships across the United States, Asia, Europe, and South America. Committed to breaking barriers through art, Jade has played a pivotal role in showcasing Brazilian talent worldwide, collaborating not only with emerging artists but also with renowned figures such as Yutaka Toyota, Claudio Tozzi, and Eduardo Kobra. A trained curator from the Sotheby’s Institute, Jade has curated and managed over fifty exhibitions in different locations and countries. She has been an active speaker on inclusion through art at the United Nations forum and has implemented several urban projects such as painting the iconic United Nations facade in New York and the historic tower at the Adrianne Arsht Center in Miami.
In 2020 Jade Co-founded Colecta, a printed and digital art magazine dedicated to educating, entertaining, and expanding people’s knowledge and perceptions of art and culture across the globe with an emphasis on Brazilian artists and special projects. Jade Matarazzo comes from a legacy of cultural entrepreneurship and pursues diverse artistic paths, dedicated to continuing her family’s patronage and honoring her mentor, Ciccillo Matarazzo, founder of the Bienal do Brasil and the Museum of Modern Art in São Paulo.”
As a visual artist and photographer, winner of twenty-two awards, Jade has held over fifteen solo exhibitions in the United States, Europe, and Asia and has her work included in the Morikami Museum in the United States.
Giuliana Brandao
COO & Creative Director
Giuliana is an experienced strategist in the Fashion and Art Industry, with over twenty years of dedication, knowledge, and experience in strategic brand management, market research, communication, fashion and art publishing, governmental cultural project management, and event production. Highly skilled in people management and international market relations, Giuliana is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Colecta Magazine. She also served as the Creative Director of The House of Arts, a project she founded alongside Jade Matarazzo, notably collaborating on significant cultural projects with renowned muralist Eduardo Kobra, including the facade of the United Nations in New York and Wynwood, Miami.
Always expanding horizons, she has also worked as Director of Operations for private clients, responsible for sourcing and manufacturing products for Nordstrom, Macy’s, Target, Saks Fifth Avenue, and The Phluid Project. Currently, Giuliana is the Creative Director of Emporium Brazil Design Gallery in Miami, works in International Relations at JA Strategic Group, is the creator of the Sustainable Residency Program, and is the founder of Casa Brasil Miami.
Vida Sabbaghi
Global Arts & Culture Strategist
Vida Sabbaghi is the Executive Director of COPE NYC, a nonprofit fostering social connections through art, design, and education. She also serves as Director of Exhibitions at 630 Flushing Avenue, a commercial hub with 1,500 tenants. Under COPE NYC, Vida founded The IW Gallery, creating opportunities for artists worldwide and developing relevant art and design programming for each exhibition. She has curated numerous exhibitions, including international and award-winning travel shows. Her curatorial work spans institutions such as Queens Museum, Adelson Galleries, Robeson Galleries, Pen & Brush, AIR Gallery, Rockland Center for the Arts, Columbia University, and Siao-Long Cultural Park, where she was also the interior architect for Repsychling Nature, earning the Taiwan-NY Siao Long Artists Exchange Program Award. Her exhibition Obsessive Sea was commissioned by the United Nations Environment Programme for the Voice of the Oceans Expedition, raising awareness of ocean pollution.
Through COPE NYC, she has developed Artists in Residence programs in Brooklyn, Jersey City, Taiwan, and Germany. She co-edited Bridging Communities through Socially Engaged Art (Routledge) and contributes to art publications, including XIBT magazine.
A Pratt Institute graduate with distinction, she studied Industrial Design, Art & Design Education, and Art, Design, and Architectural History and Theory, receiving the Pratt Circle Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement. She is dedicated to creating opportunities for artists and fostering meaningful cultural exchange.
Kevin Kirstein
Director of Partnerships & Development
Kevin is a seasoned professional with a distinctive career trajectory that bridges the corporate and cultural sectors. With a foundation in financial services, he held leadership roles at firms such as Evercore ISI and Miller Tabak, focusing on client engagement, business development, and strategy.
Over the years, he built a strong network of senior professionals while helping guide growth across evolving markets. His transition into the cultural space has been both deliberate and natural, reflecting a longstanding interest in art, design, and hospitality.
As Director of Partnerships and Developments at Casa Atelier, Kevin brings a strategic lens to relationship-building, revenue generation, and curatorial collaboration. He works closely with institutions, galleries, and public-facing spaces to develop thoughtful initiatives alongside artists, designers, and cultural leaders.
Luciane Garcez P.h.D.
Art Critic & Professor
Art historian, professor and art critic. Professor of undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of Three-Dimensional Language; Theory and History of Art; Theories of Contemporary Art; History of Art in Santa Catarina; and Methodology of Teaching History of Art. Professor at the State University of Santa Catarina - UDESC. Bachelor of Fine Arts from the State University of Santa Catarina (2006). Masters in theory and history of art, from the same institution, Capes Fellowship. PhD from the Université Aix-Marseille, France, Art Studies, in Theory and History of Art. Master's and PhD diplomas validated in the United States. Post-doctorate in Theory and History of Art, from UDESC; CAPES/PNPD Fellowship, under the supervision of Sandra Makowiecky. Member of the International Association of Art Critics (UNESCO), being a member of the AICA Awards Committee since 2020; member of the Brazilian Association of Art Critics Section Brazil; member of the National Association of Visual Arts Researchers. Independent art curator, with exhibitions in Brazil, the United States, and Argentina. Creator and manager of the platform viajarnahistoriadaarte.com, offering and teaching private courses in Art History and Contemporary Art, with the support of the Museu da Escola Catarinense - MESC. Luciane Garcez has been participating as jury in Art Shows, and art curator, since 2014.
Organized several conferences, shows and cultural events in the last 15 years. Works as an independent curator. Fluent in Portuguese, English, French, and Spanish languages.
Carol Damian P.h.D.
Art Curator
A former director of the Frost Art Museum and chairperson of FIU's Department of Art and Art History, Dr. Damian is a strong fixture in Miami's arts community and a nationally recognized art historian. She is a graduate of Wheaton College in Norton, Mass., and received her M.A. in Pre-Columbian Art and her Ph.D. in Latin American History from the University of Miami. A specialist in Latin American and Caribbean art, she teaches classes in Pre-Columbian, Colonial, Spanish, and Contemporary Latin American Art, Modern Art surveys, and Women in Art. /
Dr. Damian is the author of Carlos Estévez: Entelechy. Works from 1992–2018 (2019), Neorealism and Contemporary Colombian Painting (2000) and The Virgin of the Andes: Art and Ritual in Colonial Cuzco (1995), as well as the co-editor of Popular Art and Social Change in the Retablos of Nicario Jiménez Quispe (2005). She has also written articles and art catalogs about many Cuban and Cuban-American artists such as Wilfredo Lam, Cundo Bermúdez, Luis Cruz Azaceta, Agustín Fernández, Emilio Sánchez, and Humberto Calzada. Dr. Damian is the Miami correspondent for Art Nexus and Arteal Día. She lectures frequently on Latin American and Caribbean art and has curated numerous exhibitions.
Silvana Soriano
Mentor
Silvana is a Brazilian educator and visual artist whose work spans drawing, painting, and textile art. Through her dual role as an educator and artist, Silvana continues to inspire both emerging artists and established creatives, promoting artistic expression as a means of connection and transformation. Beyond her artistic career, Silvana is deeply committed to education, having developed and led numerous workshops and art programs aimed at fostering creativity and critical thinking. She has worked closely with students of all ages, guiding them through artistic exploration while emphasizing the importance of cultural heritage and personal expression. Her dedication to education extends to community-based projects that encourage dialogue and inclusivity through the arts.
With over two decades of experience, she has exhibited internationally in galleries and cultural institutions, exploring themes of identity, memory, and the fusion of traditional and contemporary artistic practices.
